The MG Clube de Portugal (MGCP) joined this iconic ACP event!

The Passeio dos Ingleses 2026, organized by ACP Clássicos, took place on January 24, 2026, and is considered one of the largest European gatherings of British classic cars. Held simultaneously in Lisbon and Porto, the event brought together around 300 classic vehicles manufactured in the United Kingdom, offering a landmark drive for classic car enthusiasts.

A group of 25 members of the MG Clube de Portugal, accompanied by their guests, took part in this event through a partnership with the ACP that provided special conditions for MGCP members. This initiative offered an excellent opportunity to socialize and exchange experiences with other owners of British vehicles, particularly MG models.

Despite the adverse weather conditions in the days before and after the event, the weather cleared on the day of the drive, allowing it to take place under reasonably good conditions, despite occasional light rain.

📍 Lisbon
The Lisbon group departed from Parque Eduardo VII, heading towards the Coruche area. Midway through the route, participants were divided into two groups:

  • The Sporting Group took part in a regularity test at the Campera Karting Circuit in Carregado, where participants were able to test the precision and reliability of their classic cars in a controlled environment.
  • The Touring Group visited the Cork Oak and Cork Observatory in Coruche, a venue dedicated to the promotion of cork oak landscapes and cork production, a symbol of Portuguese identity, offering a cultural and educational break.

Lunch was held at the Sorraia Rural Hotel, in Santa Justa (Couço), a venue set within the Ribatejo landscape and ideal for social interaction among participants.

📍 Porto
In the north, the event started from the Bonjardim Bolhão Parking Area. The route included a stop at the São Domingos Viewpoint, offering wide views over the Douro Valley, followed by a visit to the Church of Santa Maria Maior of Tarouquela, a remarkable example of the region’s Romanesque religious heritage.

The drive concluded with lunch at the Royal Douro Valley Hotel, in Baião, providing a moment of relaxation and fellowship in an outstanding setting overlooking the Douro River.

The Passeio dos Ingleses continues its annual tradition of celebrating British automotive heritage, bringing together enthusiasts, owners, and classic models in an event that combines camaraderie, driving pleasure, and automotive tourism.
