Dear Members,
On behalf of the Board of the MG Clube de Portugal, I would like to wish all Members, their families, and all MG enthusiasts a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year 2026 filled with health, joy, and many happy moments behind the wheel of your MG.
As a summary of 2025, I would like to share some statistics regarding the Club’s activity during the year now coming to an end (data as of 30 November):
Active Members | 269 |
New Members in 2025 | 16 |
MG Cars in the Club | 291 |
Total Cars in the Club | 359 |
Number of Gatherings | 6 |
Members who participated in events | 43 |
Total event participants | 166 |
Participation in car shows | 1 |
Cars with the Club’s Group Insurance | 229 |
Cars with VIH Certification issued through the Club | 104 |
I consider it to have been a positive year, though with opportunities for improvement in 2026. Among these, I highlight the need for greater Member participation in Club events, an increase in the number of cars insured and certified through the Club, more partnerships offering discounts to Members, and an expanded range of MG merchandise.
To make this possible, we are already working on an activity plan for the coming year, based on the following pillars:
• Decentralization: national and regional events;
• Greater focus on the automobile, while still embracing cultural and gastronomic elements;
• Participation in car shows;
• Collaboration with other car clubs;
• Emphasis on mechanical expertise.
This plan will be published at the beginning of January so that you can reserve the dates in advance.
I would like to conclude this end-of-year message by mentioning that, during the Christmas Lunch — which already has more than 90 people registered — we will pay a more than deserved tribute to our former President and current Secretary-General of the Club, Isabel Tinoco.
Throughout her mandates, she was more than a leader: she was a tireless enthusiast, an inspiring figure, and above all, a friend who always put the Club and its Members first.
A Club is not made only of cars — it is made of people, their dedication, and their spirit of sharing. Isabel nurtured that spirit like no one else, leaving a legacy that continues to inspire us to grow and improve.
On behalf of the MG Clube de Portugal, I thank her for everything she has done and continues to do. This tribute is simple, yet full of meaning: it is our collective recognition of her dedication, the time she devoted to the Club, and the passion with which she continues to inspire us.
I would like to conclude by thanking all Members for being part of this great automotive family!
Octagonal greetings,
Tiago Lousada
President of the Board
