Mafra – This gathering, organized in collaboration with Eng. Fernandes from the Mafra Municipality, brought together 37 participants, including members and their guests, for a day that combined automotive skill, culture, and music, united by a shared passion for MGs and Portuguese heritage.
Under a blazing sun, a Driving Skills Demonstration took place, followed by lunch at Quinta da Cerca. In the afternoon, participants enjoyed a guided tour of the Mafra Palace-Convent, which concluded with a Carillon Concert at the South Tower of the Palace — the final event in the 2025 Mafra International Carillon Festival.
The Driving Skills Demonstration featured a range of technical challenges: slalom, obstacle circling, tight U-turn, precision stopping, and reverse parking between lines. The results were as follows:
MGB Category
🥇 1st Prize – Joaquim Lima
🥈 2nd Prize – José Gil
🥉 3rd Prize – Vladimiro Alexandre
MG F/TF Category

After lunch, participants were split into two groups for a guided visit, led by Eduardo Silva, to the majestic Palace-Convent of Mafra. Commissioned by King João V in fulfillment of a vow he made for the birth of an heir with Queen Maria Anna of Austria, the Royal Building of Mafra was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2019. The complex includes the Royal Palace, the Basilica, a Convent, the Cerco Garden, and the vast Tapada.
The day concluded with a truly unique moment: the Carillon Concert at the Mafra Carillon Center, where the participants were immersed in the harmony of 92 bells, their echoes resonating through the cloisters of the National Convent — a memorable experience of sound, history, and emotion.
