MG TA October 1936

Early MG TA October 1936 (chassis number TA/0743) with the narrow rear fenders (wings). Its history is unknown up to 1964. The car was restored twice and eventually sold to Germany in 1994. I bought it from the German owner and registered the car in Holland in the year 2000.

The car is painted brown and cream and modified as per famous ex-works trails team The Cream Crackers. According to an English friend my car has been ‘creamcrackered’. The body is in aluminium. The cycle wings and the bonnet are made in steel. The car has twin spare wheels and a high mounted registration plate as fitted to the ex-works trails cars.

During my ownership a lot of work has been done as I have used the car for competition. At the moment a tuned XPAG engine is fitted. The engine has a Phoenix crankshaft and a fast camshaft, double HS4 1½ carburettors and a gas-flowed aluminium cylinder head and a free flow exhaust manifold. The half shafts are hardened, brake drums are aluminium and the wire wheels are new built by Haan Wheels of Schijndel Holland and correctly outside laced. All brake cylinders are new and cast in bronze. The correct Hartford dampers are fitted.

I have used the car in many events such as Vintage Montlery, Angouleme, Eifel Klassik and Vintage Nurburgring and the icing on the cake: Le Mans 2006 with Motor Racing Legends. Hence the car has a Historical Technical Passport (HTP), as issued by FIA.

The car comes with a MJPG engine of November 1936 (MJPEG/1044), a set of new Blockley tires (not fitted) and an open aluminium trailer specifically build for this car.

I am selling it because I hardly use it anymore after we moved to Portugal.
